Nevada's Other Legal Brothels: The Northern Nevada Circuit

For completeness: Nevada's legal-brothel industry is genuinely statewide (outside the big-population counties where the format is banned). The Moonlite Bunny Ranch near Carson City — made nationally famous by the HBO series Cathouse — remains a legendary operating establishment in Lyon County. Mustang Ranch in Storey County just east of Reno is another historically significant operation. Kit Kat Ranch and several other licensed establishments operate across the northern Nevada counties.

All Nevada brothels operate under strict state licensing — mandatory testing, regulated employment, posted pricing, and law-enforcement oversight. The format is openly legal; the state has regulated it since 1971.

From Las Vegas, the northern Nevada brothels are a 7-hour drive or a flight to Reno. The Pahrump venues are the practical option for a Vegas trip; the northern Nevada sites are a separate destination.
